Having your words heard by everyone else! So I'll go first. Check me out at: kurufurudo.blogspot.com And, if you want your blog publicised, drop a tag and let me know so I can include it in our list. Cheers, Cliff |

I had a good time at Mass today. We sang pretty well, considering our initial fears that parts would be forgotten after a week, but we did manage to pull through and sound good. Hands up, all who agree. =) So I was downstairs, and I caught up with an old friend, who said the following: - Wah, your choir not bad ah? Good to see it like this now. - You know how long it's been since I heard harmony parts in St Stephen's? Nice, very nice. That's just one piece of feedback for us, though I'm sure there's more. Fr Vaz (that's his name right?) even said that the Responsorial Psalm was beautifully sung. Kudos to Andrew and Daryl man. It was a nice tune yes? I think I need to give special mention to the basses today too, I was glad to hear that Andrew, Zac, Ritche, Fonz and Daryl, made their presence felt, loud and clear today. I think we're doing a great job, and I think all of us need to acknowledge that, although we have an imbalance when it comes to female voices. Our dear Sops and Altos are struggling to make themselves heard, and it's a really good effort ladies, so keep it up, and let your volume grow with each practice. I need the guys to realize the importance of balance. We have a super amount of loud and proud male voices, so there's no need to make yourselves heard. But there is a need to give way to the ladies, which means controlling your volume. Power is not everything, balance is. With that I leave you all to ponder on the recordings, and listen to yourselves, and think about what can be improved in your singing as a whole. See you all on Sunday, 9.30am. =) Kaz. |

Just to refresh your memory, recap on what was done in our last prac. Sing to the World of Christ Sops & Tenors to harmonize from the 3rd line onwards. You are Near Sops & Tenors to harmonize chorus and verses. Parts for verses are new. If you're unfamilier, please hear Verena's recordings. Bass to harmonize the chorus from "You guard me from the foe..." May the Word of God Strengthen You Altos to harmonize entire song. Listen to recording for reference. No more reason for any section to forget what to sing. All point of references have been uploaded. Please come for mass at 9.30am for us to warm up and run through our parts. Do not want to encounter yet another mass of wasted practice when we dont sing what we practice so hard for. |
