14th Jan 2009 - A Blog Revival?
Calling all Jubilate people! Remember the days when everyone blogged? I absolutely loved reading the debriefs after big events. And that's what it's all about, isn't it? Having your words heard by everyone else! So I'll go first. Check me out at: kurufurudo.blogspot.com And, if you want your blog publicised, drop a tag and let me know so I can include it in our list. Cheers, Cliff |

Christmas Midnight: Old skool offertory hymn, Clifford's favorite. This was supposed to be combined with another song, but there wasn't a need - wasn't as packed as it usually is during Christmas Midnight. =(

| When A Child Is Born |

Christmas Midnight: Yet another impromptu solo, this time, from Steffi. Irene on the emotional soliloquy, and Steffi again on the ending.

Hi! Here's a wallpaper of the combined Choir group pic, that turned out pretty nice lah. |
|
We did it again! A great big THANKS to everyone for all your time and efforts putting this together. What seemed like an impossible task a month ago, we actually made it through. Not just made it. We were fantastic! Despite all your busy schedules juggling schoolwork, exams, dealing with neglecting your bf/gfs bcos of neverending choir practices - It all paid off and again. Thank you. Of coz, I think someone needs a very special mention here. Without her, today wouldnt be a breeze. She went through a month plus long of stress and sweat running around for the choir, ensuring everyone has copies of their scores, coordinating with the AVA team, the Liturgical team, FK etc... Gosh. You guys really didnt know all the hardwork she went through. She's of coz, none other than your President - Andrea!!! *wooooooohooooooooo* And I would like to extend my appreciation to those that helped along the way and gave your support - Clifford, Irene, Daryl, Andrew while I was MIAing.
And and and - Pls applaud Clifford and Daryl too for their wonderful musical fingers . :) And and and and - again. For your lovely voices. You all gave me goosebumps. :) Btw - another sign that proved that we sang beautifully today was when we sang our recessional hymn, "City of God" and the entire congregation actually stayed and sang right through with us!

ok i'll run through the whole dedication mass and indicate where we need to do what. The procession will start from the first level. A hand signal will be given to us so that we'll know when to start singing. [Opening hymn]: All are welcome We'll sing until the Archbishop is at the altar, ready to greet the congregation. [greeting] [blessing and sprinkling of holy water] We'll sing until the last priest has returned to the altar. '(the archbishop will say the introduction): In the name of the father.......... who will celebrate your mysteries in this church be united at last in the holy city of your peace.' People: 'Amen.' hymns to be sung in this sengment (in order): Sprinkle me O Lord (Rajee's cantoring), In My Father's House, With Joy You Shall Draw Water, Joy Was In My Heart. After the last hymn of the 'blessing and sprinkling of holy water' segment, the bishop will say 'may God, the father of mercies,.....For we are the temple of his presence.' People: 'amen' [No Kyrie, move straight to Gloria]: From 'And peace to his people on earth.....(to)......we give you thanks, we praise you for your glory' bells will be rung. [Opening prayer] [First Reading] [Responsorial psalm]: dawn [Second reading] [Alleluia] [Gospel] [Homily] [No Universal Prayer] [Prayer of dedication and the anointings]: In this segment, the bishop will start with a prayer-'Let us ask the Saints to support our prayers......hearts of his people faithful temples of his spirit.' [Litany]: Valerie's cantoring. There have been changes made to the Litany, but the tune remains the same. The updated one will be distributed on sunday. [After Litany]: 'Lord, may the prayers of the Blessed Virgin Mary......Grant this Through Christ Our Lord' People: 'Amen' [Prayer of Dedication]: 'Father in heaven, source of holiness and true purpose...........(super long prayer)...............we ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your son, Who lives and reigns with you and the Holy spirit, one God, for ever and ever.' People: 'Amen' [Anointing of the altar and the walls of the church]: 'We now anoint this altar.....Mystery of Christ and his church.' After he has said this, the lector will announce the hymn and we'll start singing, 'the church is where men are'. We will end when all the priests have returned to the Altar. [Incensation of the altar and the church]: 'lord, may our prayer ascend as incense......with the fragrance of christ'. After he has said this, the lector will announce the hymn and we'll start singing, 'the lord is present in his sanctuary'. Meanwhile the walls will be incensed. We will end the hymn just before the altar sever comes to incense the congregation. This hymn is to be sung slower. [Lighting of the Altar and the Church]: 'Light of Christ....to the fullness of truth'. After he has said this, the lector will annouce the hymn and we'll start singing, 'christ be our light'. meanwhile, candles on the walls will be lighted. We'll end the hymn when the priests have all returned to their places. [offertory]: all man's labour can produce/accept almighty father. AVA team has been informed regarding the order of this hymn. Incensing of the congragation will be done again. [rest of the mass parts are the same] [communion]: 'Restore my church' will be sung first, followed by 'fill my house' [transferring of the blessed sarcrament back to the tabernacle]: 4 versus will be sung, if its not enough we'll sing the first verse again. All will kneel for this hymn. We'll end the hymn once the tabernacle has been closed. [thanksgiving hymn]: i thank my God [prayer after communion] [papal blessing/announcements] [blessing and dismissal] [recessional hymn]: City of God. Ending: repeat chorus. ok if i missed out anything, please add it in, in RED, thats all that i can regurgitate for now. |
