14th Jan 2009 - A Blog Revival?
Calling all Jubilate people! Remember the days when everyone blogged? I absolutely loved reading the debriefs after big events. And that's what it's all about, isn't it? Having your words heard by everyone else! So I'll go first. Check me out at: kurufurudo.blogspot.com And, if you want your blog publicised, drop a tag and let me know so I can include it in our list. Cheers, Cliff |

Christmas Midnight: This was an impromptu arrangement of this beautiful carol, done but a day before Christmas Eve. Kudos to Aloy and Josh for being super brave to take this on, last minute. =)

Christmas Midnight: Medley of the Year, 'Ding Dong Merrily on High' and 'Good King Wenceslas', graciously brought to you by Irene! =)

Christmas Midnight: Old skool offertory hymn, Clifford's favorite. This was supposed to be combined with another song, but there wasn't a need - wasn't as packed as it usually is during Christmas Midnight. =(

| When A Child Is Born |

Christmas Midnight: Yet another impromptu solo, this time, from Steffi. Irene on the emotional soliloquy, and Steffi again on the ending.

Christmas Midnight: Another grand rendition of this timeless classic. So nice to hear the whole congregation behind us!

Hi everyone. The committee has lined up quite a few exciting events for our choir for the next 3 months and while they are still pending for the Church's approval, I might as well just share with you to keep you in the loop: (1) Choir Camp in August Yes, it is finally happening! After years of wanting to have one, we're going to plan a little retreat just exclusively for our choir (and hopefully have some newbies joining us as well). It'll be a 3D2N affair and it will held on a weekend (i.e. Fri, Sat & Sun). It is tentatively on 1-3 August, but more details will definitely be coming up once we can get it finalized. Keep a lookout! (2) Fund Raise for our Camp * TENTATIVE This is not confirmed but given that the Church did give approval for the Altar Boys to raise funds for their camp, why not us? We're still brainstorming, but if you do have superbly interesting ideas to raise funds (i.e. not the typical sell muffins/cakes/cookies), feel free to share with us on the blog. What we have in mind now are ridiculous ideas like bringing a pony in and allow people to have pony rides around the church, or be a karang-guni for a day and collect newspapers from estates - which it is quite lucrative, but need to check the legality of doing this. Throw in your ideas, please. (3) Welcome Tea This will happen 2-3 weeks prior to our camp date. We are using this as a platform to reach out to newbies who may be interested to join us and entice them to join us at our camp! Some snippets of what may happen in this Welcome Tea - we'll be doing a praise session with some superbly beautiful accompaniment by our talented musicians, play lotsa games created by our wonderful Game Masters and feast in our mini-potluck fellowship too! (5) Choir Practice Yes, practice is going to resume as per normal from next week. Instead of going through the standard mass runthroughs, I'm going to give you the chance to sing hymns/songs outside of what we usually do for Church. This is in preparation for the Welcome Tea. (6) Warm-Ups LASTLY, because we are made to sing soooooooooo early in the morning, our voice is terribly not warmed up for mass. It is even worse than singing at10am. Let's not be complacent and risk being labeled as a 'not-so-good' choir just because we just woke up from our sleep. I'm INVITING everyone to join us for proper vocal warm-ups at 8.15am in our Choir Room. You guys have been great. Let's aim to be better... =) Have a gd week y'all! |
