Choir is not a ministry where we get to interact with parishioners. Catechists interact with parents. Canteen group serves people food. SVDP mingles with others as they visit the homes of the poor. Wardens tell you where to park. Choir? We are too busy turning the pages, keeping to our parts and singing us loud as we can. Parishioners, ie people who live near SS, are in the minority. How do we expect people who live far away to commit weekly to the choir? And lastly, no sane person wants to be a weekly volunteer. These are my thoughts to why I think we are stuck with recruitment. Here are my ideas to get unstuck.

Hey guys, ladies, boys, girls We've set up our very own Twitter account! Everyone is invited to tweet on our account. Anything stupid, anything on your mind... Any rubbish thoughts you have, doesn't even have to be choir related (of coz, choir related stuff could be great too!). It could be about your pet dog, your new hair cut, your painful braces experience, your liquid diet... ANYTHING! And some examples of choir related stuff could be, how great the organist played today, OR how wonderfully angelic our cantor voice is, OR "practice is fun today, we actually sang well!" etc. This is just a little way to get everyone to stay connected with each other.
