14th Jan 2009 - A Blog Revival?
Calling all Jubilate people! Remember the days when everyone blogged? I absolutely loved reading the debriefs after big events. And that's what it's all about, isn't it? Having your words heard by everyone else! So I'll go first. Check me out at: kurufurudo.blogspot.com And, if you want your blog publicised, drop a tag and let me know so I can include it in our list. Cheers, Cliff |

Christmas Midnight: Old skool offertory hymn, Clifford's favorite. This was supposed to be combined with another song, but there wasn't a need - wasn't as packed as it usually is during Christmas Midnight. =(

Christmas Midnight: Yet another impromptu solo, this time, from Steffi. Irene on the emotional soliloquy, and Steffi again on the ending.

An attempt to clear the air and not burn bridges over a misunderstanding, allow me to explain on behalf of those who made that fateful decision. "Those who do not attend 30th Jun meeting, will be assumed that they won't be joining us." If many haven't realised, our dear Andrea has been painstakingly calling on our past members confirming their attendance for this meeting over the past 2 weeks. Many have responded, citing reasons why they can/can't attend the meeting; otherwise, those that have commitment problems bcoz of their work schedule, we have accepted them and welcome them to join us whenever they can (Read Andrea's entry below.) I apologize on behalf of the committee, if we have been misinterpreted that you die-die can't join us just coz you're busy on 30th. If you have reasons, I think we have accepted them and no questions were asked thereafter. (Probably made a joke or two about our two NS boys who are 'banned' from choir coz of army obligations. Yes. JOKE. We didn't mean it, and I’m surprised and disappointed that people took this literally) No, we are not picking our members. No, we are not the best choir around. And nobody said we were. But who exactly are we? We are a group of dedicated people who want to work things out right this time. We want to build something all over again. We want to build a solid foundation of members who share the same passion for singing and making good music together. We want to nurture and develop the dedicated people to use the voices and talents that God gave us, in serving the Church. We need to know who can or have difficulty giving us their commitment. We need to know this so that we can plan for our future. (Yes, we want to have a future. We don't want to be just a hype.) We need to know this for practice and training purposes of every individual that comes religiously for practices. We needed to start from scratch coz we know we have changed as an organization altogether. Everyone's lives have moved on since Jubilate started and we needed some form of establishment and understanding between each and every member, past, present and future who wants to join us. We never said we wanna kick anybody out. We would be insane to say so. And if by now you hadn't realised, We have always welcomed anyone who want to, to sit with us for Sunday masses just to be merry, to sing and pray together. That is essentially what makes us a successful group, built on friendship, love and trust. Yes, that will remain the same. The only thing different about us is we want to serious in what we do. And this, I seek everyone's understanding in knowing where we are coming from. We were insistent on the attendance of 30th Jun was because ALL OF THE ABOVE was part of what we wanted to share with all of you. Not because we are finding attempts to push people away. And not because we are arrogant about ourselves. |
